The Don Diego Scholarship Foundation will offer a record total of a whopping $65,000 in 2017 college scholarships to 27 outstanding students who reside in San Diego County and have participated in the San Diego County Fair and/or other activities associated with the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
The Rancho Santa Fe (RSF) Foundation, a charitable giving organization renowned throughout San Diego County for impactful philanthropy that addresses an array of needs within communities, has donated the entirety of its college scholarship fund totaling in excess of $27,000 to the Don Diego Scholarship Foundation.
In today’s “digital industrial” world of smart devices and robotics, with self-driving cars on the horizon, Don Diego Scholarship Foundation’s Vocational Education (Voc Ed) scholarships address a need that may appear surprising: skilled manufacturing and technician jobs. Why? Because human beings are needed to build the machines and write the code that enables them to operate.
Gaining acceptance to one of the nation’s most acclaimed universities, Stanford, is a major accomplishment. To excel in this highly competitive Palo Alto, California university environment, a student must possess not only intellect but also drive. To maintain a stellar GPA while successfully participating in diverse extracurricular activities, the Stanford student must be an exceptional scholar. Don Diego Scholarship Foundation’s top $10,000 scholarship recipient of 2014, Carolyn Kravitz, has all these attributes and more.
The Don Diego Scholarship Foundation assists in bringing school children to the San Diego County Fair to participate in the Fair's Plant*Grow*Eat program.
The Don Diego Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors has elected Jon Liss as Board Chair. Liss, a Rancho Santa Fe resident who previously served as Vice Chair, replaces Paul Ecke III.
