The Don Diego Scholarship Foundation has awarded $40,500 in college scholarships to 12 San Diego County high school seniors.
The scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, were awarded at the foundation’s annual Dinner and Concert Gala June 30 at the San Diego County Fair.
All San Diego County high school seniors who participated in the San Diego County Fair (as an employee or exhibitor) or other activities associated with the Del Mar Fairgrounds, such as 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA), were eligible for the scholarships.
The 12 recipients, according to Don Diego Chair Jon Liss, “All share key traits: they are without a doubt among the most authentic, idealistic, dedicated, intelligent, ambitious and selfless young adults in our area. We are confident that each will attain success, give back to their community, and help build a better San Diego and a better world.”. . .
